Larry was diagnosed with prostate cancer and is currently participating in an Exercise Program with an Accredited Exercise Physiologist to manage the side effects from his treatment, and improve his overall physical and mental health, which is his priority.

Meet Larry’s Accredited Exercise Physiologist – Niamh Mundell

 

Niamh Mundell is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist at Deakin Univerity’s Clinical Exercise Learning Centre in Melbourne.

 

Niamh has an extensive history in clinical practice, including cardiac and respiratory rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation and persistent pain management and is also a lecturer in Clinical Exercise Physiology.

 

Niamh’s research focus is exercise interventions for the management of chronic disease and age-related declines in function, the role of exercise and nutrition in managing chronic diseases, cancer recovery, and mental health.

 

Niamh is currently undertaking a Ph.D. investigating the benefits of multi-modal exercise and nutritional supplementation for cognitive function and mood in men treated with androgen deprivation therapy for prostate cancer.
