Rhonda shares with us her exercise journey…

What condition or health issue do you work with your Accredited Exercise Physiologist to manage?

  • Torn tendons in shoulders
  • Arthritis in Lower back

 

Have you always been active or were you prescribed exercise as part of your treatment management? If not, what were your initial thoughts, did you want to exercise?

I have always been active walking mostly but first time in a gym

 

How did you feel when you started to exercise, what differences did you start to notice for both your physical and mental health?

I have had noticeable improvements since I began the program!

How has your condition or health issue improved, do you believe exercise plays a key part in this level of improvement?

I have noticed a marked improvement in my health issues and I certainly believe exercise plays a very important part!

 

What would you say to other people who may have been advised to exercise, who are apprehensive?

Give it a try. I’m sure you will enjoy and it is very beneficial!

Meet Rhonda’s Accredited Exercise Physiologist – Rhonda Haire

 

Rhonda completed her Bachelor degree in Applied Science –  Sports Studies at the Uni of Canberra, and her Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation at Charles Sturt Uni.

Rhonda began with Uniting in 2017 working to develop Seniors Gym in Canberra.

Rhonda loves her job and the positive impact the Seniors Gym programs have on clients.

With 2 children now both attending uni, Rhonda competes regularly in triathlon, running and cycling events and enjoys the freedom of travelling in her caravan.
