Test your grip strength
The grip strength test measures how strong your hand and forearm muscles are using a handgrip dynamometer. You simply squeeze the handle as hard as you can for a few seconds. Each hand is tested, and the best result is recorded. It’s a quick and easy way to get an idea of overall strength and function. Grip strength is often linked to general health, movement ability, and recovery. For consistency, the test is usually done with the arm by your side, elbow bent at 90 degrees, and wrist in a neutral position. Results can be compared over time to track progress or against average values for your age and sex.
